Now THIS is great teen lit! As a mother of voracious readers, it’s remarkable how few books offer a challenging read, with age-appropriate content, that inspires and encourages young adults. My 13 year old daughter read this book a second time immediately upon finishing it the first time, and loved the read, as well as the main character.
I read the book first in grade five but I have read it since and it never gets boring. I love reading about Lizzie’s struggles and as someone going into high school shortly, she is a very relatable character. When I read it I never want to put it down!
I love the book! It’s so realistic and awesome!

I found the book very relatable to teenage girls, but more importantly, it shed light on some topics that girls don’t talk about very often, such as self esteem and body image. No matter where you’re from or what you believe in, this book will resonate with all teenage girls.
This wonderful book made me change the way I view friendship and relationships. For pre-teens and teenagers, this book helps readers learn not only about teen relationships with others, but also about themselves. It taught me how bullying affects others and made me reflect on how my actions could affect others. It is a heartfelt read and I finished this book in three days!
I initially bought this book for my pre-teen daughter, but I started to read it and couldn’t put it down. This is an impactful portrait of teen life, tackling such an important topic, especially in this day and age. A fresh, engrossing and vital read for all ages.
